Details


Dressage tests will run concurrently with National classes.


The cones will be driven shortly after dressage.


Marathon, all classes: 2 section marathon, 6 obstacles which may include water and bridge. 


Regional Compeititors will drive 7 obstacles so make sure to check with the event paperwork which obstacle club competitors will omit.


We will do our best to accommodate requests for particular start times provided they are received at the time of entry.


Saturday evening Party


£10 for drinks , BBQ, entertainment and a live band. -- book tickets online with entries or pay at the event.


Provisional Timetable


Friday 1st August

Stable field open (earlier upon request)

Obstacles open for inspection from 12 noon.


Saturday 2nd August

Dressage for all classes. Cones to follow

Evening food, drink and entertainment


Sunday 3rd August

The Marathon will start at approximately 9.00-10am

Water and toilets will be provided in the horsebox park


Entry fees


Entries close on 28th July 2025 Withdrawals prior to this date will receive a full refund. After this date, a refund will be at the organisers’ discretion, depending on circumstances.


The entry fee for all classes for Brockham Harness Club members is £110. The fee for all classes for non-members is £130 to include two-day membership of the club. There is a £20 discount for all drivers under 18 years of age at 1 January 2024.


Novice drivers must not have competed in open events at club level or at intermediate or above at national level.


Basic rules


All drivers must carry public liability insurance

Access is permitted to the Glebe Farm Estate for the duration of the competition only

All horses and ponies must be over 4 years old

In accordance with British Carriagedriving Rules, it is compulsory for properly secured hard hats and body/back protectors to be worn by everyone on the carriage for the duration of the marathon.

Entrants should satisfy themselves that the condition of their vehicle, harness and safety equipment are adequate to meet the demands of competition driving.

All carriages must comply with British Carriagedriving rules regarding track widths.

Drivers must be accompanied at all times by a competent groom of at least 14 years old. Junior whips must be accompanied by an experienced adult.

All lorries and trailers must carry fire extinguishers

The organisers reserve the right to remove any person whose conduct is deemed to be against the best interests of the sport

Health and safety


Health and Safety standards will be in force always. All persons on the show ground or course will be held responsible to comply with these standards at all times and will not put themselves or any other person at risk in any way. Any accident shall be reported to the Safety Officer or Event Secretary at the time of the occurrence. A report shall be entered into the Accident Report Book and the relevant forms completed.

Compulsory shapes will be in 80x40 arena,
Cones will be same course as national event (so up to 20).
Obstacle will be two knockdown obstacles driven twice.

Pleasure Drive

A pleasure drive of between 7 and 9 km will take you through the beautiful Sussex scenery of the Glebe Estate. 

Turnouts will depart at 10 minute intervals, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the drive and choose your own pace.
